Chicken Crap

I've bought chicken nuggets at BJ's and at Walmart. Both have a distinct unsavoriness to them. To be fair, perhaps, I inherited taste buds that are particularly sensitive to the taste of chicken. My mother would only cook chicken if she could get it freshly killed. Yes, even in the city where we lived you could find chicken slaughter houses that cater to the aficionados of chicken. Alas, the one my mother frequented is no longer in business. It seems the big corporations drove them out. But if people tried to properly taste their chicken products, you might feel as I do about buying processed chicken.

I can't blame Walmart because the product I bought at their store was made by Purdue. I couldn't stomach more than a few; luckily, our local racoon wasn't particular and he's enjoying not having to go through our garbage cans. I can't really describe the taste except to say it tasted like a diseased chicken made it into the mix. To its credit, chicken McNuggets have always been consistently decent but I'll never again buy Purdue nuggets or BJ's nuggets. Mind you, it was the same bad taste in both products.

I would have sent it to the U.S.D.A. but with Mr. Trump cutting back on consumer protections, I won't waste my time.

You know, aren't there times when you get sick with flu-like symptoms and you're the only one in the family who got sick. We should keep track to see if we're the only ones who ate an animal product. What if they're getting these chickens from China and what you ate was a fowl with bird flu--that can't taste good. Of course, the very troubling thing is that I must be the only one that tastes the foul in these fowls. They make it to the shelves and, apparently, people are buying them. I can only hope that just like an oenophile often has a palate that is inscrutable in his love of finer wines, the yucky taste I find in some chicken products is just a "figment" of my palate and, hopefully, is of no concern to the average public.
